The I Ching, the Yi Jing, Yijing, or I Ging
is one of the Five Classics, the fundamental books of Confucianism.
The traditional manner of consulting the I Ching was to throw a
bundle of yarrow sticks. The sticks are thrown six times. Each
throw, through its combination of odd or even sides - head
or tails - yields a particular result, called a 'line'.
The I Ching also known as the Yi Jing, Yijing, or I Ging, is one of the Five
Classics, the fundamental books of Confucianism. It is over 3000 years old and
the symbols that used in divination are over 5000 years old. It makes them both
one of the oldest survived books in the world, and one of the oldest forms of divination as well. It is by far the most popular kind of divination and oracle in Asia, and has a growing namber of followers in Europe and the America. This fact is based on its uncanny ability to provide detailed insights to those who study it carefully.
